EXCLUSIVE: Dreame’s Jet-Powered Nebula NEXT 01 JET Edition is NOT Headed for Mass Production

Earlier today, Dreame unveiled the Nebula NEXT 01 JET Edition, a rocket-assisted electric “hyper sedan” claiming a 0–60 mph time of just 0.9 seconds, which would place it among the fastest-accelerating vehicles ever conceived.

However, Dreame has confirmed to Alex Automotive News that the JET Edition is not planned for mass production. This detail had not been previously disclosed in Dreame’s official announcement.

What We Learned at the Dreame Nebula NEXT 01 JET Edition Launch

When we first received a press release promising 0-60mph in under one second, we were naturally skeptical. During the launch itself, Dreame avoided talking much about the specifics of the Nebula NEXT 01 JET Edition and spent more time talking about artificial intelligence advancements and autonomous driving techologies in their car endeavors.

Following the event, I spoke with James Yang, Vice President of Global Business at Dreame Nebula Next, to get more information. According to Yang, while the standard Nebula NEXT 01 EV prototype is intended to reach production, the JET Edition is not part of those plans.

Is the Nebula NEXT 01 JET Edition Going Into Production?

No, Dreame has confirmed that the JET Edition is not planned for mass production.

In other words, the sub-one-second 0–60 claim is tied to a vehicle that isn’t expected to reach consumers. It purely was built to show Dreame’s engineering ambitions.

Why Release the JET Edition at All Then?

This raises a key question: why produce a prototype for a car that Dreame already knows will never make it to market? I asked Yang this, and his answer was quite simple: Yang framed the JET Edition as a deliberate push beyond conventional boundaries, but not something Dreame intends to ever bring to the mass market.

Dreame did not clarify whether any limited-run or experimental units of the JET Edition could be produced.

What Comes Next

While the JET Edition won’t reach mass production, Dreame says it is targeting a production-ready version of the standard Nebula NEXT 01 EV by the end of 2027.
