Right off the bat, I imagine a lot of you are confused, because the breaking news of the day is that Dodge just revealed an all-electric Dodge Charger, dubbed the Charger Daytona. And while yes, this is true, Dodge also announced that they will be making Dodge also announced that they are making two gas-powered Chargers: the Charger SIXPACK H.O. and SIXPACK S.O.
The gasoline-powered Chargers will be available in two body types: two-door and four-door. Yes, you read that right: Dodge has brought back the two-door Charger.
The big news about the gas-powered Chargers is that the V8 is gone, and has instead been replaced with Dodge’s new 3.0L Twin Turbo I-6 Hurricane engine (hence the name SIXPACK). Yet, despite these engines being a I-6, the performance isn’t exactly what you’d call sluggish: the H.O. model pushes out 550 horsepower, while the S.O. model pushes out 420 horsepower.
Dodge was quick to note that the new inline-six engines are not only comparable but better than the outgoing 5.7 and 6.4-liter HEMI V8s.
Many will be disapointed to find out that all-wheel-drive now comes standard for all Dodge Chargers; besides that, Dodge has not yet revealed performance figures beyond horsepower for the gas-powered Chargers, but we will make sure to update this article when we find out more.
Interior
The newly-developed interior is a nice step up from the older Chargers, with the 2024 models boasting a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch electronic gauge cluster. Dodge also brings in ambient lights that have 64 available colors and an overall much-needed overall for the new Chargers.
The gasoline-powered Charger SIXPACK is slated to start production in 2025, with both the two-door Charger SIXPACK H.O and four-door SIXPACK S.O. set to start in early 2025.
Pricing has yet to be announced for the new gas-powered Charger, but we will make sure to update this article as more information becomes available.
