Take A Look At The 670 Horsepower Electric Dodge Charger Daytona

The time of the electric muscle car has arrived, and who better than Dodge to usher us into that era? The star of the show is the all-new, all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger- a car that Dodge says is the world’s fastest (and most powerful) muscle car.

Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let’s talk about the models. There will be three all-electric Charger models: the Daytona, Daytona Scat Pack, and Daytona R/T. Additionally, there will be two gas-powered Chargers: the SIXPACK H.O. and SIXPACK S.O., which we go over in this article. Also, Dodge casually announced that they will be making the new Charger availble as both a four-door and a two-door, and we can’t help but wonder:

Essentially, the Daytona nameplate now signifies the electrified Chargers. Additionally, Dodge is bringing back the two-door Charger.

OK, Now Into The Good Stuff

Dodge is igniting a new era of automotive muscle, announcing the global debut of the world’s first and only electric muscle car and the brand’s first electric muscle car: the all-new Dodge Charger.

Obviously, the all-electric Chargers are plenty different from the outgoing gas-powered Chargers. For example, all-wheel-drive now comes as standard on all Daytona-trimmed Chargers. The top-of-the-line Charger is the Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, which is slated to produce 670 horsepower and go from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, which is quicker than the fastest Charger of the previous generation. For drag-strip enthusiasts, the quarter mile is done in 11.5 seconds.

Dodge brings in 16-inch Brembo vented rotors and Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3 tires to get the Charger Daytona to brake and grip.

One of the obvious downsides of having an electric muscle car is losing the signature V8 growl your typical Charger is associated with. However, Dodge has an answer to this, and it goes by the name of Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust- and rather than going into the technicalities of this thing, we’ll keep it simple: it’s a faux-exhaust sound that Dodge claims will deliver Hellcat levels of sound.

The exterior’s pure design aesthetic carries over to the dynamic, driver-focused interior design of the all-new Dodge Charger, enhancing the modern, visceral feel of the new cockpit. Interior shown includes Plus Group, Carbon & Suede Package and Track Package with Demonic Red seats for the Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack.

Besides that, Dodge also brings in a suite of performance goodies and modes to the new Chargers. The first of which is PowerShot, which by the press of a button, gives users an extra 40 horsepower for 15 seconds. Other notable mentions are Donut Mode and Drift Mode: both pretty self-explanatory.

Beyond that, the interior has also been completely rethought, with the Charger boasting a 12.3-inch entertainment screen and a fully digital 10.25-inch gauge cluster (16-inch available).

Range

The all-new Dodge Charger presents a distillation of muscle car design through a modern muscular exterior that focuses on function, avoids excess and subtly acknowledges inspiration from the clean, timeless lines of its predecessors.

The Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack will go 260 miles on a single charge. Range increases by 57 miles (317 miles total) for the Dodge Daytona R/T. Dodge claims that the Charger will go from 20% to 80% range in roughly 27 minutes.

The two-door coupe Dodge Chargers in the Daytona Scat Pack and R/T trims will begin production in mid-2024, while the four-door models and gas-powered Chargers will begin production in early 2025.
