Subaru just released their brand new, all-electric SUV to their car lineup. Meet the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker, an off-road focused EV that is faster than a Subaru WRX.

The new Trailseeker debuted at the New York Auto Show earlier today, and it joins the Subaru Solterra as the Japanese company’s second electric SUV on the market. The Trailseeker essentially serves as an electrified version of the Subaru Outback, which was recently remodeled and also debuted at the New York Auto Show this year.
The Trailseeker can also be seen as a larger version of the Solterra, measuring six inches longer and one inch taller, while also offering additional trunk space than the Solterra.
Speed and Power

The Subaru Trailseeker comes with two batteries: one on the front axle, and the other on the rear axle. What this means is the Trailseeker comes standard with Subaru’s all-wheel drive which will come in handy for rough terrain. Those two batteries produce a meaty 375 horsepower, making it the most powerful Subaru in their North American car lineup. Subaru says that consumers will be able to tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds and go up to 260 miles on a single charge.
While torque figures were not released at the time of release, Subaru did confirm that the new Trailseeker will jump from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds, making the new electric SUV the quickest car in Subaru’s lineup, easily surpassing the Subaru WRX tS with a 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds.
Features

Of course, there’s more than just speed to the Trailseeker. Being an off-road focused SUV, the Trailseeker comes with 8.3 inches of ground clearance and multiple driving modes tailored to specific terrains. The Trailseeker also features Downhill Assist Control and Grip Control for added stability off-road.
The Trailseeker comes standard with a 14-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Peppered within the cabin are USB-C chargers and two wireless chargers.
Final Thoughts
The Subaru Trailseeker joins the ever-growing electric-SUV segment as Subaru’s fastest car yet. Subaru has yet to announce pricing for the new Trailseeker; however, seeing as Subaru is presenting the Trailseeker as a slightly-larger and redesigned version of the Solterra, expect pricing to be start a tad above the Solterra’s MSRP of $39,000. The Trailseeker will hit dealerships in 2026.
