Timex’s new series of watches offers three color sets, each housed in a 40mm stainless-steel case. The first color scheme features a green dial with yellow and white stripes and a perforated brown leather strap. The second stars a blue dial with orange and blue stripes paired with a blue perforated leather strap. The trilogy of watches concludes with the wheat dial and a blue-white-red stripe design option, paired with a black perforated leather strap. Each leather strap features a quick-release feature for easy strap swaps.

Each watch seemingly draws inspiration from different elements of motorsport heritage, though Timex has not officially confirmed the specifics. The green-dialed watch appears to nod at Lotus’s rich history in motorsport with its signature yellow and British racing green design. The blue-dialed watch, featuring orange and blue stripes, appears to pay homage to Gulf’s deep-rooted presence in motorsport. The final design with the wheat-colored dial and French flag stripes seems to acknowledge France’s legacy as one of the pioneers of motor-racing events.

Functionality

The new racing-inspired watches join Timex’s Marlin series of timepieces, which feature precise quartz movement. This level of accuracy proves crucial, as the Marlin Chronograph watches include a chronograph with a tachymeter to track speed while on the track.

For added functionality, the watch features three subdials. The first is a 24-hour subdial decorated with checkered flags located at the 3 o’clock mark. Next are the 60-second and 60-minute subdials, located at the 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock marks, respectively.

Each of Timex’s new race-oriented watches is water-resistant up to 50 meters; however, Timex advises against pressing the buttons underwater to avoid damaging its components.

The trio of Timex Marlin Chronographs was just released and is available now on Timex’s website for $189. This makes it one of the most affordable premium motorsport-inspired watches on the market.
